Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes. All McQueen SASM services require a minimum four-month semester commitment. Real academic progress takes time — the first month is assessment and system-building, and meaningful results emerge over the following months. We work only with families who are committed to the process. After the minimum commitment period, subscriptions continue month-to-month until cancelled with 30 days written notice.
-
Tutoring addresses subject-specific gaps — it helps a student understand content they're struggling with. McQueen SASM manages the full academic picture. We monitor grades, track deadlines, build planning systems, coordinate schedules, and ensures nothing falls through the cracks. We are the oversight layer that most student-athlete families are missing entirely. Tutoring can exist alongside our services but is not included in any tier.
-
During onboarding, parents provide access to their school's academic portal — PowerSchool, Canvas, Infinite Campus, or whatever platform the school uses. This gives us real-time visibility into grades, assignments, and deadlines without requiring school approval or coordination on your end.
-
At Level III, we coordinate school communication on your behalf. This typically means drafting outreach for parents to send, being copied on relevant emails, and maintaining an active communication log. At the start of every Level III engagement, we provide a Parent Authorization Letter that introduces McQueen SASM to your student-athlete's teachers and support staff. Direct teacher responsiveness varies by school, so we work within whatever access is available.
-
Some resistance is normal — especially at the start. Our approach is structured but not punitive. We work with the student-athlete, not around them. Over time, most student-athletes adjust once they see the system working in their favor — fewer surprises, less parent pressure, more control over their own schedule. If resistance becomes a sustained barrier to delivering results, we will have an honest conversation with the family about fit.
-
At every tier, the week includes a portal review, grade and assignment monitoring, and a written parent summary. Level I is primarily monitoring and reporting. Level II adds direct student strategy sessions, mid-week check-ins, and planning system support. Level III adds athletic schedule coordination, school communication, and long-range planning. The specific rhythm is established during onboarding based on your student-athlete's schedule.
-
This is exactly what we plan for. At Level II and III, travel weeks are mapped in advance — assignments are identified, deadlines are tracked, and make-up work strategies are in place before your athlete leaves. The goal is that a travel week never becomes an academic crisis.
-
You will receive a written parent summary every week that tracks grades, missing work, and overall academic status. At Level II and III, you receive a monthly strategy session where we review progress against goals. You will always know exactly where things stand — that visibility is the foundation of what we deliver.
-
Yes. We can onboard at any point in the school year. Starting mid-semester often means there is already ground to make up — which is exactly the kind of situation we are built for. Your four-month minimum commitment begins from your start date regardless of where you are in the academic calendar.
-
We understand that circumstances change. Cancellations require 30 days written notice and are effective at the end of your minimum commitment period if you are still within it. There are no partial-month refunds once a billing cycle has started. If a significant life event affects your student-athlete mid-engagement, we will have a direct conversation about the best path forward.
ADDITIONAL SUPPORT
Additional services are available separately or by custom arrangement. Tutoring, test preparation, college admissions support, one-off school advocacy, and consulting for parents, coaches, or programs are not included in monthly packages unless otherwise arranged.
Not sure which level is the best fit?
We’ll discuss your student-athlete’s academic demands, training schedule, and current pressure points during a private consultation and recommend the most appropriate level of support.
$75 consultation fee credited toward your first month of service.
